Venturers develop their own programmes: from vocational activities developing self-confidence, to leadership courses and team-building exercises
Venturers is where the adventure begins. As a Venturer you will choose your own program. If it interests you, we can do it.
Typical activities are: Tramping, Climbing, Kayaking, Cycle, Camping, Abseiling, Off-Road Car Building and Racing, and Sailing and Camps along with outdoor skills.
You will also learn many new skills and make new friends. Social activities are an important part of Venturing, and you will take part in Quiz nights, Formal Balls, Ten pin bowling, shooting evenings and many other fun events.
You will get to meet other Venturers from around the region, NZ and even the world at some events making friends for life.
You will also be working towards your Queen's Scout Award. Becoming a Queen's Scout gives you the skills and confidence to achieve in all aspects of your life and give you a chance to grow as a person
Because Queen's Scouts are exceptional young people, this award can be very useful when looking to attend sponsored courses (eg Outward Bound) and in finding work.
